Science, Art, and the World Around Us

About us:

Thank you for visiting our website! We’re so glad you’re here. We are currently working on the design of our first pilot project, a summer camp focused on birdwatching and, more importantly, on understanding our role as stewards of the birds and their habitats.

This initiative is built through collaboration and community, with the support of local educators, artists, scientists, and neighbors who share our belief in learning that is curious, inclusive, and deeply connected to the world around us.

Native to Central Pennsylvania’s rich forests, the Trillium plant is an example of community and interdependence. Trilliums thrive with the support of their whole ecosystem: they rely on the fertile soil, built by the towering trees above it, benefit from mycorrhizae (underground fungal networks), and depend on ants for seed dispersal.

Just like the Trillium, we have our roots in Central Pennsylvania, we flourish thanks to support of our larger community and the individual efforts that help us extend out reach. And just like the Trillium distinctive three petals, our work is built upon three core principles that form our foundation:

Education

Environment

Equity.
